Kansas Phases Out State Sales Tax on Groceries

Many states, but not all states, have a sales tax exemption for groceries. However, the definition of groceries differs from state to state. In some states, candy and dietary supplements are excluded from that definition. Kansas has introduced a bill that is phasing out their state sales tax on groceries, and it includes candy and dietary supplements. Kansas has a 6.5% state sales tax on groceries and hopes to have this state tax phased out by 2025.
