This webinar is the fifth in our new series of eight webinars. The series is called the Seven Pillars of a Successful Sales Tax Strategy and is a deeper dive into each of the seven pillars addressed in the two-part introductory webinar of the same name.
In this webinar, state tax expert Michael Fleming will review the different ways to register and reduce past exposure. He will specifically talk about prospective registrations, historical registrations, voluntary disclosure agreements (VDAs), amnesties and managed audits, and when it is appropriate to use each of these tools.
Mike will not only talk about what the states expect but about materiality and common sense. He will go over how to determine exposure in order to determine which registration tool to use. Mike will also dispel some common myths about registrations as well as share some common pitfalls when trying to register.
Key Topics:
Registrations
VDAs
Amnesties
Ways to Register
Prospective Registrations
Historic Registrations
Managed Audits
Understanding registrations, VDAs, and amnesties can sometimes be tricky and unclear. Michael Fleming will help clear the air with a sound, common-sense approach to understanding these topics in this session.
This session is especially of interest to companies and/or their advisors who guide them through the maze of tax changes for multistate sellers.
